Fiona has been a Greens Councillor on Marrickville Council since March 2004 and has been a member of many Council committees, with issues ranging from access to safety and transportation.
She has lived in the area on and off for much of her life, starting in a bedsit in Newtown with her Irish migrant parents. She studied at Sydney University and has a Bachelor of Arts specialising in Celtic Studies.
While living in the UK for 4 years Fiona was lucky enough to travel extensively and diversely. During her time overseas she became active as a volunteer with Oxfam and enjoyed every minute of it.
Fiona settled back in the area with her husband, Ben, and joined the Greens to try and contribute positively to the local community where her family would grow up.
She is currently raising her three daughters, Hannah, Eloise and Rowena. Fiona’s working background is in book publishing but she has also had a varied experience, having worked in hospitality, call centres and a broad range of office environments.
