Background and personal detailsI have lived in Petersham with my partner since 1987.
After I completed an Arts degree majoring in Geography and Government, my first job was working in the family hardware business.
In my late twenties I completed a Bachelor of Librarianship and a Bachelor of Education. I worked as a Teacher Librarian then as a Women’s Officer and Organiser with the Independent Education Union (IEU) I have been a delegate to the ACTU Women’s Committee and was appointed to the NSW Women’s Advisory Council.
I was a foundation Trustee of the Non Government Schools Superannuation Fund (NGS Super) and have worked in senior management roles in industry superannuation administration. I am currently working as the General Manager, Operations for NGS Super.
I have been an active member of the ALP since 1992.
A priority for my first term on Council is the repair and upgrade of Petersham pool. I am also very keen to see Marrickville with a new state of the art Library.
I believe a Council is judged by the quality of the basic services it delivers. For me, the priorities are making sure that our parks are well maintained and that we repair our ageing footpaths, gutters and roads so that resident safety and accessibility is not compromised.
I want a quicker response to graffiti removal and guidelines for residents who want to be proactive in tackling the graffiti problem through art walls.
