Cathy first lived in the Inner West in the late 70s. She then moved with her young family to Wombarra on the Illawarra Escarpment for some 12 years where she became involved with the local community and environmental issues. She returned to the Inner West in 2000 and has recently settled in Enmore.

She graduated from the University of Sydney in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in music and philosophy, and studied piano and jazz studies and the NSW Conservatorium of Music.

She has worked as a radio producer for ABC Radio National in music production and radio features for 25 years and has also taught casually at the University of Wollongong and the University of Technology.

She has two children, Gabriel (21) and Hannah (19).

Cathy believes that strong local communities can achieve positive change. Her priorities as a Councillor are to see ongoing sustainable solutions to many local issues around traffic congestion and overdevelopment. She is committed to supporting Marrickville's cultural diversity and promoting significant greening throughout the district.

Cathy has a strong interest in the arts and culture, and recognises the importance of the arts and music in local communities.
