Emanuel Tsardoulias was born and raised in Marrickville LGA. He attended Dulwich Hill Primary School and Dulwich High School.

He embarked on a career in retail and become a buyer for a national retailer, before changing to human resource management and economic development in local government.

He now owns and operates Subway on the Marrickville main street.

His professional experience and a lifetime in Marrickville has given him a deep understanding of how local issues effect the lives of people in Marrickville. He has a lifetime of experience in local issues.

Emanuel is committed to; improving our local environment, sustainable main streets, better local resources and affordable housing for people in Marrickville, delivering basic services and superior childcare services.

"As a young person struggling to establish a base in the inner city I can understand the fears that people of low incomes face everyday. Affordable housing is where the Council can make a difference."

"As a businessperson I see our main streets as the lifeblood of our community. Maintaining retail strips is a challenge in most communities in Australia. Our retail strips enrich our lives and should be the centres of our community, for retailing as well as social activities."

"The Marrickville community is changing and we need to keep up with the new needs of our community as well as finding innovative ways of providing better services, like childcare and addressing the challenges caused by global warming and the increased cost of energy. So that our community enjoys happier and better lives."

"In my roles as; Community Member of Marrickville PCYC, a member of Marrickville Chamber of Commerce, a member of the main streets committee, and Vice Chair Person of Youth and Community Services of Rotary, I'm in touch everyday with a wide range of people from different cultures and backgrounds who make up our multicultural community."

Emanuel will work to find new solutions to old problems and inventive solutions for new challenges.
