Parks and Reserves in Marrickville

Parks and gardens are our breathing space. Plants and trees absorb pollution, generate oxygen, soften hard lines, provide habitat for birds and wildlife and improve the appearance and value of our properties.

Parks and other green spaces are particularly important in our area, one of the most densely settled areas in Australia. We may not have vast expanses of bush or parkland, but our parks are amongst the best in Sydney.

Council is proud of its efforts to provide you with a range of quality parks - from the heritage parks of Petersham, Camperdown and Enmore, to the green corridor of parks along the Cooks River, to the children's playgrounds, sports fields, pocket parks and the new multimillion dollar recreation reserve at Tempe.

Council is also proud of its efforts to 'green' the area with new street trees and flower displays and landscaping of shopping centres.

So take advantage of your local area! Enjoy a BBQ or picnic, or book a sports field, band stand or tennis court.
