The Watershed is open from 10am to 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday. The Watershed is located at 218 King Street in Newtown, NSW.
The Watershed has resources and experienced staff on hand to answer your questions about sustainable living. Ask us about worm farming, composting, greywater reuse, rainwater harvesting, energy and water efficiency, recycling, natural cleaning, eco-renovation and more. There is something for everyone!
Come in to browse or research over 300 titles including books in gardening, eco-renovation, global issues, recycling and more.
The Watershed is a drop-off point for corks which are donated to NSW Girl Guides as part of a national effort by Guides Australia to divert cork from landfill and raise funds for the development of their programs. The cork is recycled in Australia and is made into place mats, coasters, floor tiles, gaskets, dart boards and hockey balls.
Reduce the use of plastic bags! Donate your extra reusable shopping bags to the Newtown Bagshare by dropping them off at The Watershed. At participating retailers, customers who forget to bring their own shopping bag can use a Bagshare Bag, which can be returned to The Watershed or to the retailer where they borrowed the bag. Look out for Bagshare bags at Foodworks Enmore Rd and Alfalfa House Enmore Rd.
The Watershed is a collection point for mobile phones as part of a recycling program raising money for WaterAid.
