About Tree Management

Trees in the landscape make a significant contribution to the urban environment. Aesthetically they provide screening, privacy and interest. Environmentally trees improve air quality, slow urban run off, reduce the heat sink effect and provide wildlife habitat.

Community expectations are that Council preserve protect and improve the tree canopy of the area. To enable this Council developed the adopted Tree Preservation Order 2007. The Order protects trees both on private and public land requiring Council's approval to undertake works on or in the vicinity of a tree.
