Adjusting text size

This site is designed to adjust and adapt to your preferred text size. If you are experiencing difficulty with text size on this site, you can adjust this through your browser settings.

Internet Explorer 5 and 6:

• Go to the View menu and highlight "Text Size"
• Click the text size you require from the list, ranging from Smallest to Largest.

Internet Explorer 7:

• Click the "Page" drop-down box from the top toolbar and highlight "Text Size".
• Click the text size you require, ranging from Smallest to Largest.

Mozilla Firefox:

• Go to the View menu and highlight "Text Size"
• Click either "Increase" or "Decrease" to adjust the text size accordingly.

Alternatively if you use a mouse with a scroll wheel, you can adjust browser text size by positioning the mouse over the page content, holding the "Ctrl" key and scrolling up or down.

If you need to reset the text settings to the browser defaults, you can follow through the instructions given above and select the default "Medium" (or "Normal" in Firefox).

Issues opening documents or pages

If you are experiencing issues accessing some parts of the website, you may want to try the following:

Ensure you are able to open pop-ups on this site

If you have software which blocks "pop-up" windows, this may be stopping you from seeing documents that open in a new browser window.

Internet Explorer:

• Go to the Tools menu and select "Internet Options"
• Switch to the Privacy tab
• Locate the "Pop-up blocker" section and click "Settings...".
• Type the following address in the topmost box: *.marrickville.nsw.gov.au
• Click "Allow", and then close out of the options menus.

Mozilla Firefox:

• Go to the Tools menu and select "Options"
• Locate the "Block popup windows" box under Content tab and click "Exceptions".
• Type the following address in the top box: *.marrickville.nsw.gov.au
• Click "Add", and then close out of the options menus.

PDF documents

Most of Council's documents online are stored in PDF format. To open these documents you will need to have Adobe Reader installed.

Word documents

Some older archived documents, as well as some forms designed for user input before printing, are stored in Microsoft Word format.

If you don't have Microsoft Office installed on your computer, you will need the freely available Microsoft Word Viewer or a compatible application (such as OpenOffice.org Writer) to view these documents in their original format.
