SUSTAIN (formerly known as the Cooks River Sustainability and Arts Festival) will be held at Steel Park, 623 Illawarra Road, Marrickville.
This FREE event, to be held along the banks of the beautiful Cooks River, will feature:
Steel Park is an easy 13-minute walk south from Marrickville Station along Illawarra Road, or a 15-minute walk west from Tempe Station along the Cooks River Cycleway (Bay-to-Bay Walk).
Trains run every 30 minutes to Marrickville station along the Bankstown Line, and every 30 minutes to Tempe station along the Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line.
If you're planning on travelling via Tempe station, please note that CityRail has scheduled trackwork on the Illawarra Line for the weekend of the festival. If you're travelling from south of Hurstville, please note that buses will replace trains between Hurstville and Waterfall/Cronulla on the day. Trains will run to Tempe station between Hurstville and Bondi Junction, but may not necessarily arrive at the normally scheduled times. Please visit CityRail's website for more information.
The Bankstown Line will be operating to its regular weekend timetable. Visit 131500.com.au to plan your trip to the event.
The Sydney Buses 423 service stops directly in front of Steel Park. This service will run every 20 minutes throughout the day between Circular Quay to the Kingsgrove depot. The 423 route runs via the City (Castlereagh Street southbound, George Street northbound), Central station, Sydney Uni, Newtown, Enmore Park, Marrickville, Undercliffe, Earlwood and Clemton Park. Visit 131500.com.au to plan your trip.
Marrickville Council will provide a complimentary Carbon-Neutral Shuttle Bus from Steel Park, Marrickville Station, Addison Road and Newtown for patrons to make their way to the event.
Spaces on the shuttle bus are limited (each bus can carry 12 passengers), so get there early!
The event is conveniently situated along the Cooks River Cycleway, a regional path well-connected to the rest of the Sydney bicycle network. Click here to download a map of cycleways in the Marrickville area, and click here to view download maps for greater Sydney on the RTA website.
