Community Venues Hire Fees

 

  • Please note all charges are GST inclusive.

Concession/Applicability

  • Local/Non-Local Not-for-profit community based groups must meet and prove status to be eligable for not-for-profit hiring rates as per Terms and Conditions of hire.
  • Concession rates can be applied to a maximum of five (5) hours per day for up to three (3) days per week available at full concession rates. Additional hours/days will be charges at commercial rates.
  • A maximum of five (5) weekend bookings at Town Halls will be acceptes at concessional rates for any one hirer in a twelve (12) month period.

Regular User

  • Consecutive days hire require a minimum of eight (8) hours payment each day to retain the venue overnight.
  • Public liability insurance is required for all hirers hiring venues for five (5) or more bookings in a twelve (12) month period.
  • Casual hirers will be given preference and regular hirers must surrender booking if required by Council.

Weekend Hire

  • Minimum weekend hire at Marrickville and Petersham Town Hall is five (5) hours.

Cancellations

  • All bookings are to be paid in full in advance of the function. All cancellations incur a penalty of 10% of hire costs.
  • Cancellations of less than one (1) month prior to the date of the function incurs a penalty of 50% of the hire fee.
  • Cancellation of less than seven (7) days incurs a penalty of 100% of the hire fee.
  • $50 cancellation fee applies to hirers who do not incur a hire charge for their booking.

Bond

  • The amount listed in the Fees and Charges for each venue is a minimum bond only. The Director of Community Services may increase the bond amount if the use is deemed to be a higher risk activity.

Petersham and Marrickville Town Halls

  • Non-Commercial Individuals and Small Groups (under 10): Subject to availability. Valid only for casual bookings Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm. Individuals and small groups must prove eligibility for this rate. 
  • Weekday fee is for Monday through to 5pm Friday.
  • Weekend fee commences 5pm on Friday and includes Saturday, Sunday and public holidays - minimum hire five (5) hours
  • New Year's Eve hire rate is for twelve (12) hours; $236.50 for each additional hour. Venue to be vacated by 2am on 1 January
