Council provides a range of activities and initiatives by which citizens can become involved with their local community and Council.
Whether you would like to attend one of our many events, take part in community consultation, or offer up some of your time as a volunteer for a local group, this section outlines the many ways in which citizens can get involved in the local area.

- Events
Marrickville Council holds a range of free community and cultural events throughout the year that celebrate the vibrant and diverse character of the area.
- Community Consultations
Throughout the year Council conducts consultations on new projects, plans and issues in the local area. Feedback and comments from citizens allow Council to incorporate your views into the decision-making process.
- Citizens' Panel
A diverse group of residents who represent the people of the Marrickville local government area by having their say about important issues affecting our community. Members' input helps Council to better understand the community's needs and wants, and to plan for the future.
- Volunteering Opportunities
Marrickville Council has a range of volunteering opportunities available. Volunteering is a great way to become involved in your local area, learn new skills and make new friends.
- Marrickville Community Fund
The Marrickville Community Fund, a subfund of the Sydney Community Foundation, provides the Marrickville community with the opportunity to build an endowment fund and give back to the community they love.
- Have Your Say
