International Women's Day (8 March) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. In some places like China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria, International Women's Day is a national holiday.

Fabric – A short film

Friday 8 March 2013, 4pm – 6.30pm

A short film produced by renowned stylist Inez Garcia and photographer and filmmaker Justin Ridler. Marrickville women share stories of family, community and style to celebrate International Women's Day. Admission is free, with multiple screenings, light refreshments and gift bags. All are welcome.

"For this project, we explored the idea of a woman's identity - where it comes from, what influences it and how it shapes the life that they live. We interviewed 6 wonderful women from the Marrickville community, all with very diverse backgrounds and asked them to tell us where they find their strength". – Inez Garcia
