Meeting Location and Dates

Marrickville Council's Committee and Ordinary Council Meetings are held on the first three Tuesdays of the month at 6.30pm, unless advised otherwise. Meetings are held at the Marrickville Council Chambers, Level 3, 2-14 Fisher St, Petersham.

Notice is given of an Extraordinary Council Meeting to be held on Tuesday, 7 May 2013 at the Conclusion of the Community and Corporate Services Committee Meeting to appoint the General Manager. The Extraordinary Meeting has been called by the Mayor pursuant to section 6(1) of the Code of Meeting Practice.

Extraordinary Council Meetings

  • Tuesday, 15 January 2013 (to appoint an Acting General Manager and decide on the recruitment process for the position)
  • Tuesday, 7 May 2013 (to appoint a General Manager)

Council holds an Extraordinary Meeting each year in September when Councillors are required to elect a Mayor and Deputy Mayor; re-adopt the meeting cycle and determine a meeting structure for the ensuing year; appoint Council Committees and appoint Councillors as representatives of Council on Special Committees, other organisations/bodies and regional organisations.

Other topic-specific Extraordinary Council Meetings may also be called throughout the year, although these are generally very infrequent.
