Safety in Marrickville (Crime Prevention) Plan 2008-2011
The Safety in Marrickville (Crime Prevention) Plan 2008-2011 is Council's second Safety Plan and was adopted by Council in April 2008. The Safety Plan outlines Council's response to community safety and crime prevention in the Marrickville area - including key community outcomes, strategies and projects.
Council has undertaken extensive consultation with the community in developing the objectives, strategies and projects that combine in the Safety Plan. The Safety in Marrickville Consultative Committee oversaw the production of the Plan.
The Plan focuses on strategies that enable the community to work together to create a place that is more liveable, safer and accessible to all citizens. Together the people and Council of Marrickville strive to support and promote our community's well-being and harmony, cultural diversity and inclusiveness to ensure that all people continue to feel welcome and feel that they belong. This sense of belonging is the key to creating safer communities and feeling a sense of connection to others.
Marrickville Council wishes to thank the community for their support and participation in developing this document.
