Community Profile

Link to Community ProfileThe Marrickville Council Community Profile presents the population characteristics of your community, how they have changed over time and how they compare to other areas. It assists Council, the general public, students, community groups, business and investors to become more informed about the community.

The profile presents data from 2011, 2006, 2001, 1996 and 1991 Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Census of Population and Housing for the local government area, and for smaller areas within it (e.g. suburbs). This data is presented in easy to use tables, charts and commentary to answer the majority of frequently asked sociodemographic questions.

Community Atlas

Link to Community AtlasThe Marrickville Council Community Atlas presents key socio-demographic characteristics for the area in a series of interactive maps. Based on data from the 2011 Census of Population and Housing (Australian Bureau of Statistics), each map is prepared using the finest level of detail to help identify spatial patterns and trends in the area.

Fact sheets for individual suburbs

Each of these fact sheets presents selected 2006 Census statistics about each suburb in the Marrickville Council area - such as countries of birth, languages spoken at home, occupations and family structures. It also includes a brief history of the suburb, together with a selection of historical photos.
