VISY Community Grants

Funding

The Pratt Foundation has allocated $50,000 over five years through the VISY community grants. $10,000 is available through the 2013 grants program, and funding applications from $500 to $5,000 can be applied for.

Eligibility

The project should benefit local sustainability, the arts and/or the Marrickville Community and is available for projects operating only within the local government area. The Pratt Foundation requires applicants to have Deductable Gift Recipient (DGR) status with the Australian Tax Office.

How to apply

Applications can be made online from 9am, Wednesday 1 May at http://marrickville.smartygrants.com.au/visy2013.

Applications must be received by 5pm, Wednesday 29 May.

Grant assessment

Marrickville Council is coordinating the grant application process and reviewing the applications. Applications are assessed against the following criteria:

  • provides benefits to sustainability, the arts and community within Marrickville; 
  • demonstrates merit in comparison to the other applications; and
  • reportable within 12 months.

Applications which meet the eligibility and assessment criteria will be recommended for funding to the board of directors at the Pratt Foundation.

Successful grants

Successful grant applicants will be notified in writing by the Pratt Foundation and asked for:

1. evidence of the DGR status
2. an invoice for the agreed amount

The grant payment will then be processed by the Pratt Foundation to the applicant.

Grant accountability

Promotional materials must acknowledge the Pratt Foundation's support through text or logo placement. 

Grant acquittal

Recipients will be asked to complete a simple acquittal form that provides a summary about what was achieved through the project and send one or more photos that could be used by Council to promote community projects.
