Library services for young people

The Marrickville Library Service provides a large selection of youth-oriented books, DVDs, graphic novels, and school resources for loan. Programs are also offered throughout the year, such as homework help and reading clubs. Marrickville Library Service offers the free yoututor service to help students with homework.

Maths Tuition for Year 7 - Year 12

Marrickville Library and History Services now offers free mathematics tuition for high school students, in partnership with the University of New South Wales. Help is available for Year 7 to Year 12, including up to 4 unit mathematics. All sessions are at Marrickville Library.

Bookings are not required. Tuition will be available:

  • Mondays and Tuesdays in June, from 6pm - 8pm: Marrickville Library
  • School holidays in July – Monday 1 July, Tuesday 2 July, Wednesday 3 July and Friday 5 July from 1pm - 4pm: Marrickville Library

Premier's Reading Challenge

Marrickville and Branch libraries are actively supporting schools participating in the 2012 NSW Premiers Reading Challenge. Click here for more information.

Graphic Novels 

Marrickville Library has a large collection of popular comics.  Popular series include Dragon ball Z and Naruto.

School Resource Collection

A school resource collection is available at each of the Marrickville libraries.  This collection contains books, study guides and audio visual material that supports the high school curriculum.

Youth Week

Marrickville Library supports National Youth Week.  Each year the library holds interesting events to celebrate this important week.
