Celebrate Australia Day with the annual celebration of festivities in Enmore Park and feast on local delights.
Events kick off at 3pm with the Citizenship Ceremony and announcement of the Citizen, Senior Citizen and Young Citizen of The Year, followed by live local entertainment from 4.30pm, before a spectacular fireworks display.
There are tonnes of free activities for all the family, so share a picnic rug this Australia Day in Enmore Park from 3pm to 9pm.
Twenty stalls will offer foods from around the world as well as hot popcorn, corn on the cob, chip on a stick, fresh lemonade, churros, ice cream and sorbets and fairy floss.
Indulge in Cuban street food, paella, African samosas, Portuguese chicken rolls, French crepes, Mediterranean wraps, Chinese BBQ buns, Turkish gozleme and a wide variety of healthy salads.
Aussie Wildlife Displays will be in attendance, offering inner west city kids the chance to interact with Australian native animals.
Levi The Village Blacksmith will be back to demonstrate his metalwork and blacksmith skills, crafting armour, period pieces, as well as wrought iron works.
There will be a jumping castle, old-fashioned games and races, the Magic Yellow Bus, free face painting, a huge inflatable obstacle course, and giant ‘Sabre tooth tiger’ slide.
Kids will also be entertained by popular Jay Laga’aia, who is best known for his long association with ABC TV’s Play School, and his show on Seven Two, Jay’s Jungle.
Australia Day is a glass free event. BYO water bottle. Walk, cycle or catch public transport. All scheduled performance times and artists are subject to change.
