Marrickville Open Studio Trail (MOST)

MOST logoStudios and art spaces in the Marrickville local government area will throw open their doors to the public for MOST 2011, giving the public access to a wealth of studios, artist run initiatives (ARIs) and galleries.

Widely recognised as a hub of new and independent arts, Marrickville's arts spaces invite you to see artists at work, view artworks in progress, buy art and to engage with one of Sydney's most vibrant artistic communities. MOST 2011 is an official event of Art Month Sydney.

The Ville Bill - MOST Pre-Party
 

  • Date: Thursday 10 March 2011, 7-10pm
  • Where: At The Vanishing Point Contemporary Art (ATV P), 565 King Street, Newtown

Warming up to MOST, The Ville Bill is a celebration of Marrickville's arts precinct - its artists, galleries, ARIs and studio complexes. Featuring live music, art and performance treats, the Ville Bill gives you the chance to catch up and chat all
things art, mingle with the artists and plan your route for Saturday's MOST.

MOST Street Art Tour (Walking)
 

  • Date: Saturday 12 March 2011
  • Meet: 11am or 1pm, Newtown RSL, 52 Enmore Road, Newtown
  • Finish: The Hub, Newtown Square, Newtown

Join Melinda Vassallo, author of Street Art of the Inner West, and street artist Chris Tamm as they walk you through the back lanes of Newtown and Enmore to seek out some of Sydney's best street art.

Match Box Projects ARI Walking Tour
 

  • Date: Saturday 12 March 2011
  • Meet: 2pm, Marrickville (meeting point revealed on tour registration)
  • Finish: 5pm

Join artist duo Leanne and Naomi Shedlezki - creators of Match Box Projects' Sydney ARI Guide and Art Map - on a walking tour through Marrickville's ARIs. Local artists will give insights into their galleries and projects during the tour.

MOST Artcycle Bike Tour
 

  • Date: Saturday 12 March 2011
  • Meet: 10am, Marrickville Station (south side)
  • Finish: 4pm, Petersham Station
  • BYO: Bike, helmet, water, lunch, lock and repair kit

Bike Marrickville hosts this moderate speed, on-road bike tour. Expect frequent stops at dynamic art spaces not normally open
to the public. Limited numbers. Bookings essential.

Inner West ArtCycle Tour for Art Month Sydney
 

  • Date: Saturday 12 March 2011
  • Meet: 11am MOP Project Space, Abercrombie St, Chippendale
  • Finish: 4pm Ultimo Project (UP Space) Addison Road Centre, Marrickville
  • BYO: Bike, helmet, water, lunch, lock and repair kit

Local artists Gilbert Grace and Brendan Penzer will guide this moderate speed ride with breaks.  The tour will be visiting contemporary commercial galleries and ARI s in the Inner West.
