Artist OpportunitiesMarrickville is rich in artistic and cultural capital. Our area contains one of the highest percentages of artists, cultural workers and arts industries of any local government area in Australia. In addition, Marrickville is considered by many to be the birthplace of multiculturalism in Australia and the artistic traditions from countries such as Vietnam, Greece, China, Lebanon and Portugal, among others, form part of the tapestry of the artistic and cultural life of Marrickville. 2008 Grants for Arts & CultureMarrickville Council is currently calling for applications for funding under the Marrickville Cultural Festival Grants and Arts & Cultural Grants Programs, with funding up to $5,000 available for suitable arts and cultural projects that contribute to the diversity of the Marrickville local government area. Artist Residency ProgramThe Local and National Artist Residency Program contributes to the ongoing development of Marrickville's relationships with local, regional NSW and interstate artists and assists local and national collaborations. The Residency Program is supported by the Addison Road Centre through the supply of a studio space. Download a copy of the guidelines and application form in the Download box below.
