Gay & Lesbian Liaison @ Marrickville (GLL@M)
 

The Gay and Lesbian Liaison @ Marrickville Committee (GLL@M) promotes issues relevant to the local gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex (GLBTI) community to Marrickville Council. GLL@M provides advice and facilitates effective communication between Council and members of the GLBTI community in the Marrickville area.

Aims of the GLL@M Committee

The aims of the  GLL@M Committee are to:

  • assist Council in developing improved communication and co-operative relationships with representatives of the GLBTI community throughout the Marrickville local government area
  • work with Council to identify needs of members of the local GLBTI community to encourage locally responsive events and services
  • advise Council on the development of Council’s Social Plan and Strategic Plan and other issues referred by Council to the Committee for their advice
  • promote issues relevant to the GLBTI community and the role of the Committee

The Gender Centre is committed to developing and providing services and activities which enhance the ability of people with gender issues to make informed choices.

 

The Gender Centre is also committed to educating the public and providers about the needs of people with gender issues. We offer a wide range of services to people with gender issues, their partners, families and friends in NSW. We also act as an education, support, training and referral/resource centre to other organizations and service providers.

 

We specifically aim to provide a high quality service which acknowledges human rights and ensures respect and confidentiality.

Twenty 10 is an organisation for young gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people who are having problems at home or have become homeless. Through promoting a safe and supportive environment, we can work with young people in dealing with acceptance issues as well as providing support services to help young people gain independence.

A volunteer based community service providing free, anonymous and confidential telephone counselling, information & referral services and support groups for gay men, lesbians, bisexual and transgender persons (GLBT) throughout NSW on sexuality and life issues.

Rainbow Babies

Rainbow Babies is a local lesbian support group offering social interaction between lesbian parents and their children in the community. Picnics, camping weekends and many other social activities are organised for parents and children to interact and have fun.
