Applications closed for 2009

Community Grants applications for 2009 closed earlier in the year. The list of successful applicants for 2009 can be downloaded here (PDF file). Cheques were presented to the successful applicants during Anti-Poverty Week in October 2009.

 
Non-profit community organisations and services are invited to apply for funding for projects that meet the social needs of residents in the Marrickville local government area. There are two separate funding sources available, Marrickville Council's Community Grants Program and the Community Development and Support Expenditure (CDSE) scheme. Organisations are encouraged to apply for both grants schemes.

Council Community Grants Program

Marrickville Council's Community Grants Program provides financial support to non-profit, community based organisations for new projects that benefit residents of the Marrickville Local Government Area. The maximum amount available for individual projects is $5,000.

Community Development and Support Expenditure (CDSE) Scheme

The CDSE Scheme aims to improve the living standards of low income and disadvantaged people through community-based projects, and is designed to ensure that larger registered clubs in NSW contribute to:

  • the provision of front-line services to their local communities; and
  • the welfare and broader social fabric of the local community.

A maximum of $25,000 is available for individual projects. For more information or to obtain an application form, visit the ClubsNSW website or contact Sophie or Julie on 9335 2143.

Information sessions for prospective applicants will be held on Wednesday 20 May from 1-2pm and 6-7pm in the Amenities Room, Petersham Town Hall, 107 Crystal Street, Petersham. The information session will provide an opportunity for groups to discuss ideas for funding with Council officers and ask questions about completing the application forms.
