Citizens for Sustainability Grant

Calling for Applications

  • Are you interested in contributing to sustainability?
  • Do you have an idea for a community-based environmental project?

Marrickville Council is calling for applications for its Citizens for Sustainability Grant Program, encouraging the local community to work together to protect the environment.

A total of $10,000 is available for community-based sustainability projects to be carried out within a 12 month period.

Your project or activity will:

  • make a positive contribution to sustainability within the Marrickville local government area;
  • contribute to one or more goals for air, biodiversity, greenhouse, waste, water and learning for sustainability as identified in the Local Action 21 Strategy;
  • be apolitical;
  • be driven by a group or individual, and taking place in a communal domain;
  • start within one month of receipt of funds;
  • be achievable in the short-term (with demonstrable results in 6-12months);
  • have measurable outcomes;
  • be value for money;
  • be reportable in 12 months; and 
  • be within a budget of $2,500.
