Midnight Basketball

The free boys and girls mixed competition aims to provide a safe and social environment for young people from the local community. The event is fully supervised, with dinner, uniforms and transport
home all provided. Participants begin by attending a fun and interactive life skills workshop covering issues such as health, self esteem and financial literacy.

The Midnight Basketball youth initiative began in Redfern in 2006 and came to Marrickville in 2008. Last year’s tournament was a huge success, with strong interest from local teenagers.

Registration is free and open to all local 12 to 18 year olds from the following postcodes: 2006, 2008, 2016, 2042, 2043, 2048, 2049, 2050, 2203, 2204.

Registration includes:

• 8 week tournament (including grading night)
• Team uniform (singlet only)
• Dinner provided every Friday night
• Bus transport home
