Page subtitle - delete text if not needed

Body text goes here. Delete this and the following example text when you're ready to start.

Page headings

For your headings, use heading styles H1 through to H4 under the Format drop-down box above. This ensures consistency across the website, assists visually-impaired users with screen-reading software, and will allow headings using these styles to adapt automatically if website styles are changed in the future. Please use these styles rather than manually colouring or bolding text to make headings.

Here is a preview of each heading number, along with an explanation for their use:

  • H1 - Page title

  • H2 - Large heading

  • H3 - Small heading

  • H4 - Page sub-title if needed

Some style tips

  • Text in tables will appear larger in this editing box than it will on the actual website. This is normal, and is necessary to allow for browser text settings to operate smoothly on the live site. Do not apply manual font size/styling to text unless absolutely necessary - e-mail the web administrator at webcontent@marrickville.nsw.gov.au if you're unsure.

  • Formatting to get the exact style you need can be difficult with the limitations of webpages - however there is usually some way around the problem. Please e-mail webcontent@marrickville.nsw.gov.au if you're experiencing trouble trying to get a page to look how you need.

  • Use the regular bullet-point tool rather than manual dashes or image bullets - it will convert automatically to the orange-point Council style. If you want to create larger line-spacing between bullet points, enter a single line-break (Shift+Enter) followed by a single spacebar on the new line.

  • For utility boxes at the bottom of this page that are not needed, delete as necessary. You can delete a whole utility box cleanly by clicking the outline of its table to select it - the mouse will turn a compass-style cross when moused over in the correct position - and clicking the "Delete" button (not Backspace) on your keyboard.

Tables

Tables on this website can be formatted automatically to a pre-defined style, without the need to mess around with borders and cell formatting. You can apply this by right-clicking the table, selecting "Modify table properties", and selecting a suitable style from the drop-down box. There are four colour schemes available:

  • PURPLE: Council purple
  • ORANGE: Council orange
  • GREY: Neutral grey
  • SECTION: Adapts to colour scheme of page's main section, e.g. Environment, Services, etc.

(ignore similar-looking entries such as "grey td", "grey p" etc.)

Please note that the colouring of the top row relies on the table being coded as a "heading" cell rather than a regular cell - otherwise the heading row will look the same as the other cells. ContentMaster doesn't do this automatically and this is a shortcoming of the system, but it can be solved in one of three ways

  • If you're comfortable with editing HTML, you can click the "Source" tab at the bottom of this editor and change the <td> cells within the top row to <th> to achieve this
