Victor Macri was born in King George V hospital in 1964. His family's association with the Marrickville area started in the 1930's. He was educated in the Marrickville Local Government Area and attended St Brigids Primary School, De La Salle Casmir College, and Christian Brothers at Lewisham.
Victor grew up in the area, actively participating in sports. He represented Marrickville in athletics, played Rugby League for the Gladstone Hotel and Newtown SG Ball and also played soccer for the Marrickville Red Devils Soccer Club.
Victor was first elected as a Councillor in 2004. It has been an honour serving the people of Marrickville. During this time I believe I have made a contribution towards the common sense approach to the decision making process in Council. Victor has worked as a hairdresser in Marrickville since 1983. He believes that working on the Marrickville shopping strip gives the public great access to him which allows him to help with any of their concerns. Victor believes the most important part of representing the people of Marrickville is listening to their views on the issues to enable him to deliver relevant and responsible decisions.
Victor is passionate about working with the community, helping people, being known for always taking a common sense approach in all of his decisions, the environment, the Cooks River and revitalising our shopping strips.
Victor is a member of the Marrickville Chamber of Commerce and in his free time, he likes to make models, cycle and play touch football.
