Bicycle StrategyThe Marrickville Bicycle Strategy builds on the previous (1996) Strategy, aiming to further improve conditions for cycling through a four point action plan consisting of:
The strategy also includes an implementation schedule for the Newtown to Petersham section of Regional Route 7, which is intended to serve as a pilot project to guide the implementation of the other Bicycle Strategy routes. The entire network would be implemented over ten years at a total estimated cost of $7.2M. It will however be necessary for Council to vary the timing of implementation according to available funding, local priorities and opportunities to fund works through other processes. Further detail is included in the report to the 14 August 2007 meeting of Council's Technical Services Committee and within the Bicycle Strategy report itself. Both are available for download below.
