Illegal dumping

Our free clean up service gives residents the freedom to book in a collection for their household items and excess green waste any week of the year.

Most residents do the right thing and book a free clean up for their unwanted household waste

Placing unwanted items, such as furniture, metal goods and mattresses outside your property without making a booking is considered illegal dumping. It is illegal to dump waste on streets, laneways, parks, footpaths, nature strips, car parks and waterways. If you are caught illegally dumping you could received on-the-spot fines of up to $1,500 for individuals and $5,000 for corporations.

Remember: If you see your neighbours placing household items at the front of their properties, it probably means that they booked a free collection with Council – ask them or call Customer Service on 9335 2222 if you are in doubt.
