Sustainability Vision

Bordir Design & Embroidery are committed to challenging themselves to explore and implement new methods of recycling and reducing waste. As the business grows, Bordir Design & Embroidery intend to only use garments and materials that are produced by companies that have sustainable environmental practices.

Carbon dioxide emissions from electricity usage

  • 100% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions (i.e. zero emissions) from electricity using 100% Accredited GreenPower.
  • 10% reduction in energy usage by December 2009
  • 3 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions from electricity usage for the year ending January 2008. 
  • All machinery is switched off at the main power point when not in use.
  • Lights turned off when not needed.

Water Imported from Outside the Catchment

  • Bordir Design & Embroidery will not focus on water as they are a low water user.

Waste to Landfill

  • Plastic and tissue paper from suppliers is reused as packaging for customers.
  • Backing paper is reused.
  • Reusable resources are taken to Reverse Garbage.
