Summary of business

The Natural Paint Place provides non-toxic plant based decorating products for homes and businesses.

Sustainability Vision

The Natural Paint Place aims to provide the most environmentally responsible products that are safe for human health and for the natural environment.
Carbon dioxide emissions from electricity usage

100% Accredited Green Power is used and therefore there are zero carbon dioxide emissions from electricity usage.

20% reduction in energy costs is expected by replacing 36 watt Tri-phosphor lamps with T5 Lamps.
Water Imported from Outside the Catchment

The Natural Paint Place will not focus on water as there is only one tap and one toilet on premises. The tap has a water restricting aerator and the toilet has a cistern converter for water conservation.

Waste to Landfill

  • Paper and cardboard is re-used or re-cycled.
  • Food scraps are taken home to compost.
  • The Natural Paint Place encourages suppliers to use corn starch packaging materials rather than polystyrene foam.
  • Unused product is donated to the Bower Reuse and Repair Cooperative Limited.
  • The Natural Paint Place has a comprehensive reuse system, which it is estimated diverts at least 50% of waste from landfill.
  • Some packaging is purchased from Reverse Garbage.

Other sustainability Initiatives

The Natural Paint Place offer energy and water audit services.

Recycled paper is used for brochures, cards and in the office.
