The Marrickville Landcare Group

The Marrickville Landcare Group aims to:

  • improve the biodiversity of the Marrickville area, particularly the Cooks River Foreshore
  • provide an opportunity for residents to be involved in the restoration of natural areas
  • compliment Marrickville Council's park improvement program

Using local native plants grown at the Marrickville Community Nursery, the Marrickville Landcare Group has been undertaking projects along the Cooks River including Steel Park, Marrickville Golf Course and the Warren. The group meets for monthly working bees, where volunteers undertake various tasks, including weeding, planting and mulching under the direction of a qualified Biodiversity Supervisor.

Marrickville's Landcare Group meets on the 4th Sunday of the month.  Morning tea is provided. Times may change with daylight savings; check this page and the events calendar for details. Current dates and times:

  • Sunday 22 November: 9:00am -12:00pm

Location: Near the clubhouse, Marrickville Golf Course, off Wharf St.

Note: Times may vary slightly with daylight savings.  Meeting times and details are also available on the Events Calendar.
