Volunteering

There are many opportunities to get involved, including free environmental workshops, tree planting and bush regeneration programs, as well as, pollution prevention initiatives. Remember every action counts!

As part of Council's commitment to Local Action 21 Strategy we encourage and support community involvement and leadership to protect the environment. The Environmental Volunteer Program, established to give the community the opportunity to participate in and learn from real experience in the protection and enhancement of the natural environment, plays a vital role in working towards a more sustainable future.

Through biodiversity projects volunteers can:

  • gain practical skills in bush regeneration;
  • learn about native plant and weed identification;
  • learn about our local natural environment;
  • be outdoors in a friendly environment; and
  • meet new people.

There are 4 volunteer projects which provide various opportunities for volunteers:

All volunteer teams always stop to share a cup of tea and there is always time for a chat.

Join a volunteer team and make a difference to the environment.
