Marrickville - Let's show Australia how we can Clean Up!

Clean Up is the nation's largest community-based environmental event. In the Marrickville area last year, there were 4160 participants, spread over 39 sites, who removed a total of 6.25 tonnes of rubbish from parks, roadways and waterways. The event was a huge success!  We need your help to make an impact on our environment. This year, we would like to increase our participation by 100% on 2008 numbers, so register for schools, business or community clean up today!

Marrickville Council is currently seeking support from the community to participate in the 2009 Clean Up campaign.

Clean Up 2009 will be held on the following dates:

  • Business Clean Up - Tuesday 24 February 2009
    Businesses can participate in one of three ways, by either registering a site, registering an office, or by becoming a Business Supporter.
     
  • Schools Clean Up - Friday 27 February 2009
    Schools make a huge difference each year by cleaning up school grounds, school surrounds or local parks. Clean Up is also an effective environmental educational experience for students.
     
  • Clean Up Australia Day - Sunday 1 March 2009
    Clean Up Australia Day brings members of our community together for the local environment. Individuals and groups can register a Clean Up site or volunteer to join an existing site on Clean Up Australia Day.

Clean Up is an opportunity make a positive contribution to the local environment. Council appreciates your support.
