Sustainable Water Demonstration Sites

Marrickville Council is committed to demonstrating sustainable water management to the community and is currently working on a number of projects involving water sensitive urban design, water conservation, water reuse and harvesting.

Completed Projects

  • Addison Road Children's Centre, Marrickville – rainwater harvesting
  • Cavendish Street Children's Centre, Stanmore – rainwater harvesting
  • Deborah Little Children's Centre, Dulwich Hill – rainwater harvesting
  • Globe-Wilkins Preschool, Marrickville – rainwater harvesting 
  • Marrickville Community Nursery – rainwater harvesting, drought tolerant gardens 
  • May Murray Children's Centre, Marrickville – rainwater harvesting 
  • Tempe Lands – leachate treatment plant and constructed wetlands
  • Tempe Reserve – constructed wetland for stormwater treatment, water sensitive urban design 
  • Tillman Park Children's Centre, Tempe – water conservation, rainwater harvesting and internal reuse

  • Loftus street Car Park, Dulwich Hill – permeable paving and water sensitive urban design
