Community ConsultationsThroughout the year, Council conducts community consultation on new projects, plans and issues in the local area. We would like to hear from as many citizens as possible, so we can incorporate your views into decision-making. You may find it difficult to attend consultations, or work long hours and find it hard to know what is happening with Council - so we encourage you to have your say through this site. Draft policy for the Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities to CouncillorsOpen for submissions until Wednesday 2 December 2009 Notice is hereby given of Council’s intention to adopt a draft Policy for the Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities to Councillors. In accordance with Section 253 of the Local Government Act 1993, members of the public may make a submission in relation to the draft Policy . Newtown/Enmore Parking StudyMarrickville Council has appointed the consulting and planning firm Arup to undertake a parking management study in Newtown and Enmore area. The study will review and examine strategies for addressing parking issues in commercial and residential areas and will make recommendations in relation to each area as to how to resolve car parking issues and address future demand. Marrickville Library is undertaking a survey to find out what you want from the Greek language collection. BagBusters plastic bag surveySurvey respondents receive a FREE BagBusters shopping bag! BagBusters is Marrickville Council's program to encourage plastic bag reduction through community awareness, education, and partnerships with local business. Council is looking for your thoughts about shopping bag usage, plastic bag reduction behaviours, and general attitudes to plastic bags. ARCHIVED: Arlington Reserve Draft Improvement PlanExhibition period now closed Marrickville Council has allocated funding within the 2009/10 Capital Works Budget for the refurbishment of Arlington Reserve subject to financial and site feasibility. The proposed works involve the installation of a synthetic sports turf surface and upgrading of the existing retaining wall and associated seating. Comments from the community were invited during the consultation period, and will be taken into consideration in finalising plans for the works to be constructed. ARCHIVED: Dulwich Hill South Local Area Traffic Management Scheme concept planConsultation period now closed Marrickville Council has established Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) schemes in 20 local precincts since 1990. Sydenham LATM Scheme was originally completed in 1992 and initially reviewed in 2000/01. The Dulwich Hill South LATM Scheme is once again being reviewed. A concept plan was developed based on the responses of a questionnaire survey from the community, the outcome of traffic surveys and accident data analysis.
