Community Consultations
Throughout the year, Council conducts community consultation on new projects, plans and issues in the local area. We would like to hear from as many citizens as possible, so we can incorporate your views into decision-making. You may find it difficult to attend consultations, or work long hours and find it hard to know what is happening with Council - so we encourage you to have your say through this site.
Click on to a topic of interest below to find out what is happening and to have your say.
Have Your Say about the New Marrickville Library
Marrickville Council is in the process of designing a new Marrickville Library to be built on part of the old Marrickville Hospital site located on the corner of Livingstone and Marrickville Roads.
Three Nationally renowned architectural firms are competing to design the new library. All three firms have submitted their broad concept designs as part of the competition.
The draft designs can be downloaded from: www.yoursaymarrickville.com.au/newlibrarysite
Here you can also:
- read frequently asked questions about the new library;

Have Your Say on the future of Local Government
Marrickville Council is urging residents to submit their feedback by completing a survey on the State Government's draft Destination 2036 Action Plan. The draft Plan, released in early December, is the outcome of a meeting of the states Mayors and General Managers in Dubbo in August of this year.
Among wide ranging reform proposals the draft Plan proposes cutting red tape, encourages more Council partnerships and resource sharing, and reviewing the rate pegging system and funding models for councils.
Marrickville Council must submit any comments on the draft plan to the Division of Local Government by Wednesday 15 February 2012, so residents and ratepayers are encouraged to provide their comments well before this date if possible.
