Celebrating Local Government Week 2008
28 July - 3 August
Local Government Week is an opportunity for councils to promote the importance of local government, and show the community how they can be part of their council's day-to-day activities.
The theme 'Over the Fence' relates to developing relationships with our neighbours, and to the character of our area, what sets it apart, extending the notion of the individual backyard, to the whole community. As a diverse, vibrant and innovative community, with colourful main streets, plenty of green space and a culturally diverse population, Marrickville has plenty to be discovered just over your fence.
Marrickville Council is celebrating Local Government Week 2008 with a program of special events. Join in and celebrate the Marrickville local government area - your 'backyard'!
