  • Marrickville Landcare - The Marrickville Landcare Group works to restore natural areas around Marrickville, including native tree planting projects along the Cooks River.

  • Marrickville Community Nursery - Volunteers are essential to the continued success of the Marrickville Community Nursery.

  • The Friends of Camperdown Cemetery - Volunteers are invited to assist in preserving and regenerating a remnant of a severely endangered Turpentine Ironbark forest located in Camperdown.

  • Riverlife -  A joint initiative of Marrickville, Canterbury and Strathfield Council, Riverlife aims to engage the community to actively learn about stormwater problems and to do something about local environment problems.

Meals on Wheels and Social Support

  • Volunteering at Tom Foster Community Care - There are many frail older people, people with a disability and carers living in the Marrickville and Leichhardt area who need help to continue living in their own homes. Volunteers can make a positive difference in people's lives, and will receive ongoing training and support.

Marrickville State Emergency Service

The State Emergency Service of NSW (SES) is a volunteer-driven service dedicated to assisting the community during emergencies such as flooding and storms. The Marrickville SES unit currently has around 35 active local members. Volunteers receive nationally recognised training, learn new skills, meet new people, and make their community safer.
