Storytime
Preschool Storytime is held weekly at Marrickville, Dulwich Hill, St. Peters/Sydenham and Stanmore Libraries during school terms. Storytime is an opportunity for preschool children and their parents/carers to share the joys of literature, language, rhythm and rhyme. Bookings are essential. Please call the library branch you wish to attend at around 9.30am on the day.
Each session consists of:
- a general theme
- songs and rhymes
- several stories read aloud
- a simple craft activity for your child (they will sometimes need your assistance
Preschool storytime
Preschool storytime is held at the following times:
- Marrickville Library
Wednesdays 10.30am and 11.30am For bookings, phone 9335 2175

- Stanmore
Tuesdays 11.00am For bookings, phone 9335 2183
- St Peters/Sydenham
Mondays 10.00am and 10.45am For bookings, phone 9335 2184 (The 10.00am session is being introduced from 3 August)
Magic Yellow Bus Storytelling
The Library's Reading Bug visit Marrickville Council's Magic Yellow Bus for Storytime at the Park during school terms, at 12 noon

- Tuesday 15th Sep 12 noon: McNeily Park
- Wednesday 16th Sep 12 noon: Camperdown Memorial Rest Park
- Wednesday 23rd Sep 12 noon: Steel Park Marrickville South
- Friday 4th Sep 12 noon: Johnson Park Dulwich Hill
Storytime guidelines
- Plan to arrive on time so your child doesn't miss anything.
- Stay with your child and listen to the stories. Join in with the songs and rhymes.
- Please remember that background noise is distracting for the children and the storyteller.
