Book Clubs

Want to join a book club?

Marrickville Library Service runs book clubs at all of its branches. At each meeting the library supplies a title to read before the next meeting, where readers can discuss the various themes and views expressed in the book with other book lovers.

Membership is limited to ten members per group. Bookings are essential and you will need to be a member of the Marrickville Library Service to join.

Hellenic Book Club

The Marrickville Library Service established the first Hellenic Book Club in Australia, which aims to showcase and discuss books that promote Greek literature and history. The club provides book lovers with an opportunity to read and discuss various themes and views expressed in the selected book of the month.

The Marrickville Library Hellenic Book Club brings the written word to life by featuring visiting authors and discussions between group members. Literature of Greek interest, as well as works by Greek-Australian authors, are presented and discussed to highlight the constantly growing literary scene both in Australia and in Greece.

The group meets monthly at the Marrickville Library main branch. If you would like to attend, please call the Library on 9335 2173 or 93352166.
