Managing parking in Tempe

Update on the Tempe parking strategy

Council asked residents, business owners, shoppers and commuters about their current and future parking needs. We engaged with car and commercial vehicle drivers, cyclists, motorcyclists, car share organisations and others by gathering feedback from 1,346 households and running a community workshop.  

A parking strategy was developed for the consideration of Council. Following feedback from the community, at the meeting of 5 February 2013, Council did not support the recommendations of the Cardno parking strategy which included a proposal for a residential parking scheme. However Council recommended monitoring the situation until the next scheduled review as part of Council’s rolling program of Precinct Parking Reviews.
