  • Saving Water
    There are several programs available to help businesses save water. You can find information on Sydney Water programs and links to Marrickville Council's Rainwater Incentive Scheme.
  • Carbon Footprint
    The best way to look at reducing your business' carbon footprint is to look at your electricity consumption. Take a look at the top energy saving tips for businesses. Once you are more energy efficient you can consider purchasing GreenPower or purchasing carbon offsets.
  • Resource Smart
    Wasted resources to business cost money. There are simple steps your business can make to help you maximise resource efficiency. This is also information on local Reuse and Recycling organisations and links to waste contractors to help with recycling services.
  • Community and social sustainability
    When most people think of sustainability, they think of the environment but sustainability is all about finding a balance between society, economy and the environment whilst ensuring we leave the planet in a better condition than we found it. The target sustainability business program is inviting all members and friends of the program to make a commitment to social sustainability by linking with local community initiatives and not-for-profit organisations.

Phillip and Gladstone Street Neighbourhood Action Group

Jeremy Mah shares the story of how he set up his neighbourhood action group in Enmore. The group of local residents meet regularly to clean the streets in the area and have worked with Marrickville Council and local businesses to increase street plants and reduce graffiti.
